AION 2 Spacetime Rift Guide
Spacetime Rifts let you cross into the opposing faction’s territory. The Taiwan official guide describes a three-hour cycle, a 15-minute portal window and access to enemy-territory sealed dungeons and stronghold missions.
Plan your first crossing
Select your region in the timer and compare its next start with the event countdown in game. Check your faction, current map and available travel routes before the expected opening. A correct time does not guarantee that a particular portal is active or has room for another player.
What can you do across the rift?
The Taiwan guide names sealed dungeons and stronghold missions as activities available after crossing. PvP is available when PvP mode is enabled. Pick a specific objective before entering, and check whether your character has the relevant quest. Crossing alone is not the same as completing or claiming an objective.
What changed in the official update?
NC’s December 3, 2025 announcement changed the interval from four hours to three and increased participation capacity from 200 to 400. These are historical patch facts. They do not establish today’s entry duration, every regional anchor hour or every current restriction.
Build a repeatable route
Prepare inventory space, inspect your objectives and identify a return route. Follow the active map marker when the event begins. If entry fails, distinguish a missing portal from a capacity message or unmet requirement before trying another location.
Regular Rift or Rift Contest?
The same guide describes a separate Rift Contest with its own schedule, entry requirements and S-PvP rules. A countdown for ordinary three-hour crossings does not schedule that battle. Use the activity’s exact name when discussing a start time with your group.
Choose a mission before you cross
For an ordinary crossing, the Taiwan guide identifies enemy-territory sealed dungeons and stronghold missions. Start by opening the specific mission you want to complete, reading its current step and identifying where completion or turn-in occurs. Check the mission’s reward panel before the trip. A portal opening is an opportunity to reach content; it is not itself a guarantee of a standard reward chest.
Keep ordinary objectives separate from contest rewards
Rift Contest has event keys and contribution-based eligibility in the Taiwan guide. Those rules should not be copied into an ordinary sealed-dungeon or stronghold route. If a friend describes spending a key or receiving a class-ranked reward, confirm whether they mean the contest before comparing results. We link the contest rules separately so a normal crossing guide does not imply the same reward system.
Plan War Mode before travelling
NC’s December 3, 2025 announcement introduced War Mode and described a 70-minute toggle cooldown within faction territory. This is a historical rule, not a current live-client test. Inspect your own mode and cooldown before leaving, and agree on your group’s intended PvP participation. Do not apply ordinary War Mode assumptions to the contest’s separate S-PvP phase.
Frequently asked questions
Does entering a rift automatically give a reward?
The official guide links crossing to activities in enemy territory. Check the individual mission or dungeon’s completion and claim conditions; entry alone is not described here as a universal payout.
Is this a Global guide?
The numerical and named activity references on this page come from the Taiwan guide. The preparation workflow can help elsewhere, but regional rules need their own verification.
